From sea to store: Desigual custom mannequins
The High Tides capsule collection—a collaboration between Desigual and BOTTER—fuses BOTTER’s Caribbean heritage with Desigual’s Mediterranean spirit. To bring this concept to life, we combined our eco-friendly material ResisTek, with plastics recovered from the Mediterranean Sea.
Mannequins made from Mediterranean plastic waste for Desigual
We incorporated materials sourced directly from the Mediterranean Sea into the mannequin, including fishing nets. By doing so, we not only helped clean the sea but also aligned the Desigual x BOTTER campaign conceptually, visually, and ethically, and it reflects our shared commitment to sustainability.
We conducted a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment to evaluate every stage, from raw material extraction to the final product leaving our factory. This study examined all resources used and generated, including materials, energy, and waste, to ensure the lowest possible environmental impact.
The recycled sea-plastic material also meets the highest sustainability standards and is certified under the EuCertPlast 4.2 Audit Scheme, in line with the EN 15343:2007 European Standard. This certification guarantees full traceability, verifies the recycled content in the plastics, and ensures transparency.

Sustainable and customisable mannequins
As demonstrated in the Desigual x BOTTER project, ResisTek—a sustainable and unbreakable material made in Spain—allows retailers to create sustainable projects, from concept to execution. Beyond recycled sea-plastic, ResisTek can be combined with other materials—such as recycled food packaging or gravel—showcasing the limitless creativity and versatility it offers in the creation of sustainable mannequins.
